The Society has been regularly publishing its journal Llanuwchllyn Express since September 1974.
Since it's inception, the journal has contained a mixture of news about the railway and Society activities in supporting the company plus other railway related articles. Articles have been submitted by numerous Society members and, at times, by non-member friends of the Society.
Contemporary photographs, the majority taken by Society members have been used to illustrate articles and occasionally in place of words!
LE Archive
As a service to members, an electronic archive has been created. The LE Archive contains digital impressions of each page of an LE Edition, stored in a photo-style gallery. It is hoped that the Archive will ultimately contain a copy of every publication the Society has produced.
Over the years, Llanuwchllyn Express has contained sensitive information such as the telephone numbers, postal and email addresses of individual members.
Not wishing to be a source for "spammers", access to the on-line Archive is password controlled. Each paid up member (and life member) of Bala Lake Railway Society is entitled to use the Archive.
To ensure that passwords are allocated to current members of the Society, initial allocation will be controlled by the Membership Secretary on application.
Complete the access request form and your access codes will be sent to your email address. There may well be a short delay in responding.
Currently the archive contains the following publications
