Maid Marian Returns
Written by Bob Greenhalgh
Friday, 01 June 2007

Monday 28 May 2007 saw Maid Marian make a triumphant return to service at the Bala Lake Railway. Despite unfavourable weather forecasts we had a dry day with sunny spells.

Thanks to the skills of Roger Hine Maid Marian was resplendant in her new red livery.

And with a blast of confetti

Whilst Holy War and then Alice worked the first two trains of the day Maid Marian basked in the sun and posed for the many photographers . Prior to working the last two trains of the day, Marian Gwynne made a marvelous speech, confetti canons were fired and Maid Marian officially re-entered service.

With Firemen John and Matthew Downes and Driver Bob Shell she performed superbly.

Donations Still Needed

Donations to the boiler fund are still very much needed, so please do make a donation. Details from the Maid Marian Fund
